The whole Tackle Land team are excited and passionate about fishing in all forums and encourage and support all who visit to embrace and enjoy the passion for fishing.

Mark
Skipper

I have been in the retail industry for a couple of years but have a life time of experience and fond memories on and around the waterways.

I take the everyday approach to fishing and I just want get out and enjoy my time on the water with family or friends.

The Tackle Land Team has built a “Family Friendly” tackle store where everyone is welcome and time is irrelevant.

One of the main focal points of Tackle Land Sandgate is to ensure that customers leave with what they need, from bait & tackle to fishing locations or the answer to a question.

We believe that we all started from the same point and that every day we should strive to learn at least one new thing.

We would like encourage more family involvement in the outdoors and fishing is something that has no real age barrier. We want family activities to be the way they once were, more time, more fun and less cost.

Ian
First Mate

Ian (or Chewy as we have come to know him), has been in the industry for over 10 years and has grown up with fishing.

Ian mainly gets out and about offshore targeting Reef Species & Pelagics and loves to load up with plastics or hard bodies.

Ian also fishes the estuaries targeting flathead and visits North Pine Dam from time to time chasing Australian Bass and Red Claw with the family.

Ian enjoys the vast range of Daiwa top end products and puts them to the test as often as possible, Ian often states that “once you use the good stuff, you won’t go back”

If you need an edge to tackle “the brutes” out there or just want something more challenging, drop in and discuss your needs with Ian and he will ensure you are armed with the knowledge, know how and the right gear to claim your trophy.

Adam
Second Mate

Hi everyone, I have enjoyed fishing for as long as I can remember mostly targeting Bream, Flathead and Whiting of the foreshore.

I progressed to Lure Fishing and I then found a passion for Fly Fishing where I targeted most species both Fresh water and Saltwater.

I also enjoy Offshore fishing with Bait, Lure and Fly for most Offshore Reef and Pelagic species.

I have just returned from spending 12 years living in Darwin where I was spoiled with the choice of targeting Barra, Queen Fish, Trevally and Milkfish to name a few.

I started in the Tackle trade with Amart All Sports in Darwin during 2003 and also worked with in Rebel Sports in Darwin as well.

I believe that Fishing is a sport that can be enjoyed by everyone regardless if they are chasing a feed of Bread & Butter Species or if they want to chase Marlin Offshore.

I believe that we all share a common bond in that we love the thrill of the chase, the relaxed atmosphere and a passion to explore and look after or environment.

I am very happy to share my knowledge and experience with those that love to fish and I am always grateful to learn from those who have other experiences.

Richard
Third Mate

Recently embarked on a new life style Choice after 25 yrs in the Army. I now enjoy fishing either shore based or on the family boat.

I have always had a passion for fishing and I am always looking to try new gear, techniques and locations. I especially enjoy watching my son land that “big fish” and share new experiences together.

I started fishing locally using a basic spin setup and bait, as my experiences grew so did the need to try new things. I now like to use lures both hard bodies and plastics but I am partial to TT Blades and Jackal TN60’s.

My other fishing passion allows me to pass on what I have seen and learned to other new comers whether in store or on location.

Other interests include a family migration to Somerset Dam for a Bass and Red Claw fest and other boat inspired water sports. When I am not fishing my other hobbies include ten pin bowling, camping and golf.
